Coalition of API Producers (CAPIP)

Coalition of API Producers (CAPIP) is an initiative by API For Africa (APIFA) aimed at strengthening the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) industry across the continent. The Coalition’s core mission is to coordinate the activities of API producers, reducing unnecessary competition and fostering collaboration to build a resilient and sustainable API industry in Africa. Through CAPIP, we will streamline pricing negotiations, enhance market access, and facilitate the transfer of new technologies, creating an ecosystem that supports local production and distribution. By leveraging this collaborative framework, the Coalition aims to make affordable medicines more accessible to African communities, ensuring long-term health benefits and a stronger pharmaceutical supply chain.
