Capriole Energy is the company platform for Dr Simon P. Todd, an executive with broad international oil and gas leadership experience ranging from exploration, development and production operations to organizational development, culture change and corporate governance. Simon helps boards, senior executives and investors improve the performance of their businesses while managing his own energy investment fund.
Simon Todd is a native of Ireland, has BSc. (1stclass honours) and Doctoral degrees in geological science from the University of Bristol. In the early part of his 24 year career with BP, Dr Todd worked as a geologist, firstly in frontier and international exploration, working on the former Soviet Union and the Far East, then on the Andrew field development in the North Sea. Dr Todd pursued a management career, leading BP E&P businesses in the North Sea, Lower 48 USA, Trinidad, and the Gulf of Mexico. The last three years of his BP career involved change at the corporate level in the post-Macondo BP world. Dr Todd retired from BP in 2014 and after a brief sabbatical, co-founded a private equity-backed startup company, Cascade Production LLC, aimed at infrastructure investment in the deep water. Dr Todd is currently focused on advisory roles and investing in energy through his own firm, Capriole Energy.
