Cara Hotels is an independent hotel owner and operator. Founded in 1995, when two Irish friends decided to blend their vast international hotel management experience with their love of Guyana and the Caribbean – Cara Hotels was born. Named from the Irish word for friend, Shaun McGrath and Paul Stephenson saw the need in the region for comfortable, quality hotels combined with the flair and warmth of Caribbean and Irish hospitality. Today the company comprises the ownership of Cara Hotels, Point-a-Pierre in Trinidad, and the heritage hotel, Cara Lodge, in Guyana.
