The CARE Climate Justice Center (CJC) leads and coordinates the integration of climate justice and resilience across CARE's development and humanitarian work. It aims to support and strengthen the ability of CARE and its partners to increase resilience and tackle the causes and consequences of climate change.
Together with the CARE Climate & Resilience Academy, an online e-learning platform by the CJC, the center works to increase development practitioners’ capacities to integrate resilience and tackle the causes and consequences of climate change in their programming, thereby increasing program quality and sustainability and increasing the resilience of the most vulnerable people. The CARE Climate and Resilience Academy offers 3 types of content: Learning Journeys, Self-Paced Courses and Trainer Packs.
For CARE, climate justice means a future where the poorest and most marginalized have improved their well-being significantly. It’s about a future where women and men can enjoy their human rights due to increased resilience to climate change, increased equality and a global temperature rise that is limited to 1.5°C. Through our work and with the collaboration of partners, we aim to equip practitioners with the knowledge and tools to build a more just and equitable world in the face of climate change.
