CARE Ukraine is a representative office of the international humanitarian organization CARE International. CARE International works around the world, contributing to saving lives, defeating poverty, and achieving social justice. CARE was founded in 1945 by American charity organizations in to overcome the food crisis in Europe after World War II. CARE has a confederation organizational structure. Now country offices work in 111 countries of the world, where they implement 1631 projects. CARE's humanitarian aid reached about 200 million people. The organization pays special attention to the expansion of women's rights and opportunities. CARE strictly adheres to the principles of a human dignity, gender equality, non-discrimination, and equal access to humanitarian services for all people, regardless of sex, age, gender identity, political or religious affiliation, or origin. With the escalation of the conflict on the territory of Ukraine, CARE expanded activities here to help people affected by war. As a new actor in Ukraine, CARE prioritizes a locally led response and is partnering primarily with civil-society organizations, nation nongovernment organizations, women's rights organizations, and international nongovernmental organization with a longstanding presence in the country and access to hard-to-reach areas. CARE Ukraine humanitarian aid covers intervention areas such as: Protection, Gender Based Violence, Shelter, Food, Cash Assistance, Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation. Projects that CARE implements together with partners cover almost all regions of Ukraine. CARE implements feedback and accountability mechanisms in all programs and projects. Everyone can share their thoughts, clarify information, or leave a complaint about all the organization's projects, and the work of employees or volunteers.
