CARF Canada, incorporated in 2002 and based in Edmonton, Alberta, was established to better serve Canadian service providers seeking accreditation. CARF provides accreditation services across a wide range of health and human services sectors. Recognized and approved by territories and provinces throughout Canada, CARF Canada works to ensure that service providers meet international standards of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. By promoting excellence in service delivery and person-centred care, CARF Canada plays a crucial role supporting organizations in their efforts in improving the lives of persons served. CARF International, an independent nonprofit founded in 1966, accredits over 9,000 organizations worldwide. It is a group companies that includes CARF Canada and CARF Europe accrediting over 9000 organizations across five continents. Its mission is to promote quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process focused on continuous improvement. CARF sets international, field-driven standards across areas such as Behavioral Health, Child and Youth Services, Aging Services, Employment and Community Services, and Medical Rehabilitation.
