About Caribu
Since the advent of microservices architecture in 2011, the trend away from monolithic structuring in programming has been undeniable. According to Market Research Future, the microservices market size is projected to almost quadruple in value by 2030. Microservices are the future, and the future is now. However, there is one small (or giant, depending on the size of your app) issue: Transitioning to microservices from an already existing production-level monolithic application can be an arduous task, and it’s often difficult to identify where, or even how, to start. With this in mind, our team developed Caribu. We at team Caribu saw an opportunity to provide developers with an accessible solution for a smoother migration. We built a desktop app that kick-starts the conversion process for Express.js server applications by mapping the existing server structure and identifying inroads to make the application conversion-ready. Caribu allows a user to visualize the interdependencies of functions and middleware within their application. The best part is? It’s all local. We don’t touch your app, your data, your anything. You simply drop your server folder, server file, and node modules folder into the app and hit “Submit.” Just like caribou migrate in the wild, Caribu navigates through the uncharted territory of your monolithic application. Ready to start? Download Caribu today.
