Carlton Academy Trust is a Bradford-based, cross phase Multi Academy Trust comprising three secondary, three primary and three special schools in and around Bradford and South Leeds.
The Trust was developed out of the successes of it's founding school, Carlton Bolling. In 2014, it was a Special Measures school, and Carlton Bolling had a daunting reputation which led it to being dubbed as ‘The Most Broken School in the Country’ before it underwent rapid improvement, led by then Headteacher Adrian Kneeshaw. This turnaround led to Carlton Bolling being rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED’ in 2017, in just less than two years since being in Special Measures.
This remarkable turnaround led to the establishment of Carlton Academy Trust, so that more schools could be supported and benefit from the expertise acquired over this period.
