Carmelinas is a luxury footwear brand that transforms classic designs into contemporary and vibrant styles. Each pair is handmade in Alicante, Spain out of leathers sourced from top European suppliers. Carmelinas are loyal to the artisanal methods of Alicante’s renowned craftsmen, whose expertise has been honed over generations. From the story of its inception, to its global clientele, Carmelinas is a truly international brand. Founder and creative director, Lina Gutierrez, was born in Miami to a Colombian family. After years of studying in Paris, it was on a trip through India that she found her inspiration to launch the brand. An encounter with a local shoe cobbler in Chennai led her to design her first pair of slippers. Lina returned to Madrid in 2014 to launch Carmelinas and began her project of creating the perfect shoes to match her eclectic and refined aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from the boldness of Latin culture and the effortless chic of Parisian women, Carmelinas are dynamic shoes for the modern day gamine. We believe it is important to know where the items you wear come from, and at Carmelinas, we respect the talent and time of the individuals who have dedicated their lives to the construction of shoes. Our creative team is based between Madrid and the town of Elda, the nucleus of Spain’s shoe production. Working together side-by-side with our factory and with premier artisans, we create and deliver Carmelinas to our global clientele. Carmelinas are handmade using traditional techniques and the finest materials. Each artisan involved in the manufacturing process plays an essential role, and their touch can be appreciated in every pair.
