CARPOOL

CARPOOL is a student-run safe ride program at Texas A&M University that provides free, safe, and fun non-judgmental rides to the Bryan/College Station community. We operate during the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night of the Spring and Fall semesters at Texas A&M University. The service has been providing safe rides home since September 16, 1999, when it was started by founder Jeff Schiefelbein. CARPOOL's serivce is only possible through the dedication of its 350 student volunteers. Members are selected through an application and interview process at the end of every semester. At the beginning of every semester, members are trained on the basics of CARPOOL, defensive driving, and basic first aid.
