About Cary Visual Art

Cary Visual Art is a non-profit public art organization whose mission is to promote, inspire, encourage, and support visual arts for the uplifting of the human spirit in the Cary community. Cary Visual Art places art and fosters community engagement through public art in Cary, North Carolina, bringing both beauty and a unique character to our town. Our founders were a group of individuals and business professionals passionate about the ability of public art to enhance and transform a community. Our programming falls into three categories: Permanent Placements, Exhibitions and Community Programs – all for the purposes of enhancing the quality of life for Cary residents and to create a lasting impression for visitors. Many of our placements have become immediately recognizable and loved throughout the community. The beautiful gate “Overture” by Jim Gallucci welcomes all that enter the Koka Booth Amphitheater and “KATAL” the playful earth dragon at Marla Dorrel Park are two examples. Thanks to our volunteers’ passion, community members and businesses recognize that public art enhance the quality of life and economic vitality in Cary.
