Cask Marque

Since 1998 Cask Marque has been ensuring that the cask ale drank in pubs in the UK is in perfect condition. Our 45 qualified assessors make over 20,000 visits to pubs each year in England, Scotland, Wales, Europe and even America to check the temperature, appearance, aroma and taste of Britain’s favourite drink. All the beers at every pub visited must reach the required standard for the pub to pass and it then receives a plaque, framed certificate and merchandising material to inform its customers of the award. The pub then appears on the CaskFinder app for those on the ‘World’s Biggest Ale Trail’ to visit. Alongside this, Cask Marque also undertakes project work, including the Grain to Glass program, where we train and accredit throughout the whole beer supply chain; training, including 100 one-day cellar management courses each year and hundreds of 1-2-1 cellar management training courses onsite at pubs; and admin services for a range of industry quality initiatives, including Cask Matters, Cyclops and Cask Ale Week.
