Caspian Geophysical is a SOCAR company tasked with revamping exploration in Azerbaijan.
The company consists of 3 divisions: Strategic Exploration Group, New Ventures & Commercial, and Seismic Data Processing Center.
Strategic Exploration Group (SEG) is focused on building and maturing SOCAR's portfolio of prioritized offshore and onshore exploration assets. The activities performed by the team include basin screening, play evaluation, lead generation and prospect maturation. Additionally, SEG plans and manages seismic data acquisition projects and oversees planning and delivery of exploration & appraisal wells.
Data Processing Center, the original division of Caspian Geophysical formed in 1994, provides conventional 2D and 3D seismic data processing services to SOCAR and other operators in the Caspian region.
New Ventures & Commercial division is tasked with delivering integrated technical & economic evaluation of overseas exploration opportunities (e.g. bid rounds, lease sales, farm-in opportunities) and providing investment recommendations to SOCAR leadership. Additionally, the division prepares materials and organizes data rooms to attract partners for joint exploration activities in Azerbaijan.
