Based in Montreal, Canada, Castor was founded by Polytechnique’s Professors Caroline Boudoux and Nicolas Godbout, along with Normand Brais and Alex Cable. Castor embodies the success of technology transfer from a university lab to the market.
Since 2013, it has been a key strategic partner of Thorlabs, developing first-to-market technologies such as the double-clad fiber coupler, the multimode circulator, and the ultra-short photonic lantern.
