The project CASTOR addresses the cybersecurity challenges posed by the shift from cloud-centric computing to the compute continuum. The compute continuum includes hardware and software infrastructures that are often untrusted and have constantly changing trust-states.
CASTOR develops and evaluates technologies to enable trustworthy continuum-wide communications. It provides solutions to turn user requirements into security and network policies that ensure reliable and optimized communication paths. It introduces methods for checking the trustworthiness of network components and creating secure connections across different providers, tested in real-world environments.
CASTOR will be tested in four real-world use cases involving the sharing of security and safety-critical information. Its innovations will be thoroughly evaluated across three different application areas using a dedicated testbed designed for each scenario.
