CastQC project

During a 2 year project funded by EIT Raw Materials, Iskra ISD with partners aims to optimise casting of the new Aluminium alloy with metastable quasicrystal (QC) phase for a wide range of applications. This will be achieved with optimisation of alloys chemical composition, high pressure die casting parameters and microstructure to reduce its weight (which will also reduce costs of production and environmental footprint) without reducing quality (mechanical properties). “This activity has received funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). This body of the European Union receives support from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.”
