The Cat Ba Langur Conservation Project (CBLCP) is a German funded biodiversity conservation NGO on Cat Ba Island in northeast Vietnam founded in 2000. The CBLCP's flagship conservation species is the Cat Ba Langur (Trachypithecus poliocephalus), a critically endangered leaf-eating monkey endemic to Cat Ba Island. This is the rarest primate in Vietnam and one of the rarest in the world. The population is slowly climbing, but the total population is still under 100 individuals. In addition to the langur specific activities, the CBLCP manages 3 community based anti-poaching teams, environmental education programs in the local schools, provides support for the conservation activities of Cat Ba National Park, engages with the local and provincial government on issues pertaining to environmental protection and the impacts of development, Provides support for the Forest Protection Department's (FPD) work halting migratory bird poaching, and works on reforestation activities. Primary support for the CBLCP comes from Zoo Leipzig, Conservation of Species and Populations (Zoologische Gesellschaft für Arten- und Populationsschutz - ZGAP), and the Allwetterzoo Münster.
