About Catawba County Partnership for Children

The Catawba County Partnership for Children is our community’s early childhood service hub. Our agency works to identify and address our community’s most significant challenges for young children and their families. Through our strong partnerships with other child-focused agencies such as our library systems, Social Services, Public Health, and our three school systems, we work together to determine what Catawba County children need in order to be prepared for lifelong success, and we provide programming to respond to those needs. We provide services such as Imagination Library, Children's Resource Center (child care resource & referral services), Child Care Subsidies, parent education programming, and technical assistance & training for early childhood educators. The work of the Catawba County Partnership for Children is based on a significant amount of research that confirms the importance of a child’s first 2,000 days of life. In fact, a significant amount of brain development occurs within the first five years of life, so it is absolutely critical that we maximize our impact during this window of opportunity for each child in our community. The Catawba County Partnership for Children receives support from Smart Start, a state grant focused on ensuring that children enter school healthy and prepared for success, and the North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten Program. The rest of our funding comes through the generosity of local civic organizations, the Catawba County United Way, foundations, corporations, and individuals. All programs provided through the Catawba County Partnership for Children are considered to be research-based and are focused on children from birth to age 5 and their families.
