Created in 1919, CATU firstly developed the manufacturing of equipment for electrical transmission & distribution networks. From the 40's, CATU clearly concentrated on the conception and manufacturing of protection equipment against electrical risks. It focused on developing and perfecting safety equipment for the electricians, for both distribution & transmission, in close relationship with the french national utility EDF.
The international experience and recognition gained with EDF contributed to giving to CATU, an image of specialist at the world level.
Since 1996, CATU is part of the Groupe SICAME, one of the world leader in production & sale of accessories for electrical networks. In following years, various acquisitions and development have shaped the european leader & world recognized player that CATU is in its sector.

CATU constantly invest into its R&D activities. As a permanent member of the main national & international technical committees (such as UTE, CENELEC, CEI, ASTM...) Today's vast range of products includes warning signs, lock-out, earthing & short circuiting systems, voltage detectors & controllers, live line working tools & equipment, insulating rubber gloves, harnesses, arc-flash & other personal protective equipment.
Thanks to an efficient international sales organization and a worldwide red of agents & distributors, safety equipment from CATU and its subsidiaries (FESP, SUPERSAFE, CEGERS, PONTARLIER ELECTRONIQUE…) are used by the main transmission & distribution utilities, high & medium voltage contractors, low & medium voltage installers of the tertiary domain, heavy industries, railroad and automotive sector in more than 100 countries, over the 5 continents.
