The Centre of Biomedical Ethics and Culture (CBEC)- SIUT is the only center for bioethics in Pakistan and has been operational as part of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) since October 5, 2004. The center offers a Masters's and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Bioethics in addition to certificate courses, workshops, and regular public outreach programs. CBEC conducts contextual research on bioethical issues of relevance to Pakistan in particular and the region in general.
