We are an Innovative Training Network funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, under the Marie Skłowdoska-Curie grant agreement No. 956631.
The CC-TOP is an international and intersectoral network, including partners from both academia and industry. At the core of our project is the training of 15 Early Stage Researchers coming from all over the world and with different academic backgrounds. Our activities include a comprehensive training program to gain cutting-edge expertise and transferable skills to educate the future leaders of tomorrow in the biocatalysis field.
We exploit natural enzymes to evolve new biocatalytic reactions for sustainable organic synthesis.
Our mission is to implement and to develop enzymatic carboligation platforms for the formation of new C-C bonds within valuable chemical compounds. With their efficiency and selectivity, we aim to unveil the potential of biocatalytic routes to impact over industrial organic synthesis and to foster the transition towards a sustainable economy.
Our approach is a lab-to-market one, with interdisciplinary research areas covering all aspects of catalysts evolution: from metagenomic screenings, to enzyme optimization, to reaction intensification.
The research is divided in three Work Packages, each focusing on a different enzymatic class: phosphoenolpyruvate lyases, thiamine diphosphate-dependent enzymes and aldolases.
