25 years ago, I opened an advertising agency with Bill Andrews. Andrews Birt was never the biggest agency (we ended up #21 in the Twin Cities market) nor the most well-known. What we did generate was intense public interest in our branding and re-branding campaigns.
After I sold the agency in 2015, with clients ranging from American Express, British Telecom to the WNBA Lynx, I helped create in-house agencies and later, “business accelerators” for organizations like the MRAA (dream assignment) and more.
Five years ago, I wrote a book and last year I wrote a second edition. “Awareness Without Advertising,” essentially describes why the goal of advertising is to create PR.
