California Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed Care

The California Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed Care works with publicly funded agencies to improve services to trauma-exposed patients. Its goal is to develop practice, policies, and programming that promote cost-effective and safe skills for encouraging trauma recovery and reduction in unsafe behaviors. The Center provides to volunteers and staff members professional training on safety, becoming a safe connection. and building safety skills as foundational elements of all public programming. In addition, the Center conducts research, presents conferences, organizes the Santa Cruz Trauma Consortium, and provides a weekly cost-free open drop-in group for women with PTSD and substance abuse or related issues.
