Community College Leadership (CCL) Program at Old Dominion University

Welcome to Community College Leadership at Old Dominion University (ODU). We proudly present the Community College Leadership (CCL) Program, a dynamic online program designed to cultivate innovative leaders for community colleges. With a focus on developing leaders and researchers, the CCLP offers both a Ph.D. and a graduate certificate in community college leadership, seamlessly integrating the certificate into the Ph.D. program. This program is committed to shaping authentic, agile leaders who prioritize enhancing student success in learning, completion, and labor market outcomes and researchers that seek to improve the outcomes of community colleges. Our leaders are at the forefront of improving educational attainment, bridging the skills gap, and ensuring that education meets workforce demands. In community colleges, leadership roles span across various domains, including faculty (teaching and learning), staff, and senior executives, with responsibilities in workforce development, basic education, dual enrollment, academic transfer, and career and technical education (vocational training). The Ph.D. program equips graduates with the competencies necessary for effective leadership and career progression, as well as be researchers. Structured to be both cost-effective and convenient, the program allows professionals to balance their work with academic pursuits effectively.
