Climate Conference, North Central (CCNC) - Nigeria

The Climate Conference, North Central (CCNC) is a platform for discourse to educate and inform stakeholders across government, private sector, innovators, academia, NGOs and the people to take sustainable climate actions particularly as it impacts local climate challenges that we face such as droughts and desertification, flooding, heat waves etc. Within the atmosphere of sustained clamours for all to lower carbon emissions, and embrace responsible consumption, the 2020 CCNC sought most importantly for youth ideas and actions to enable us quickly accelerate our response and meet our Nationally Determined Contributions. Therefore, we are asking ourselves; can we sustainably build cities and communities that are resilient to these new realities? What is the role of the people, private sector, government and other stakeholders in reversing these harsh trends occurring in changing weather patterns? And what are the hidden opportunities in the climate challenge for the North Central region and Nigeria for new growth areas?
