About Master's in Translational Medicine

The Master’s in Translational Medicine (MTM) program at The City College of New York (CCNY) is an exciting collaboration between The Grove School of Engineering and The CUNY School of Medicine / Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program. By bringing a new type of graduate degree program to the rapidly growing New York City healthcare landscape, our mission is to educate and train the next generation of leaders in medical technology innovation and commercialization. The central approach to our MTM program is the integration of engineering, clinical exposure, research, and entrepreneurship training in a central yearlong interdisciplinary Biodesign project experiential learning experience. The BioDesign project is mentored by well-established faculty members and external advisors and synthesizes the technical, clinical, economic, and regulatory issues involved in design and market implementation of medical product commercialization that are introduced in the didactic coursework. This approach is one that is engaging for engineers, scientists, researchers and others with a STEM background. By completing a stimulating curriculum and challenging program that fosters leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation, our graduates will be ready to create and develop the medical technologies that will change the future of healthcare. Whether you want to start their own company, pursue a future in academia, or work in a medical technology or clinical environment, this distinct feature of the MTM program uniquely prepares our graduates for their next career move.
