Our mission is to empower the Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon in matters of market economy and thus face the future in better conditions. The Chamber of Commerce of the Indigenous Peoples of Peru is the product of a deep analysis of the new problems of the Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon and the need to provide solutions, within our own parameters, to the challenges of the 21st century. It began as a project in 2012. The process of creation involved indigenous companies and productive commercial associations, youth, regional leaders and political organizations such as the Inter-Ethnic Association for the Development of the Peruvian Jungle-AIDESEP and the Confederation of Amazonian Nationalities of Peru-CONAP. The Chamber is also the result of international learning from other Indigenous Peoples such as the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business-CCAB, and the Advancement of Maori Opportunity-AMO (New Zealand). These institutions, from a local and global perspective, have been examples of economic participation with identity to seek to equalize opportunities with respect to the rest of society.
