Citywide Disaster Services, Inc. (CDSNY)

The CDS Alert Emergency Radio Network, known as Citywide 1 New York (cw1ny), provides our participants with the most up-to-the-minute information about ongoing emergencies throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area. The two-way radio system is a network of emergency service agencies and members from federal, state and local levels which includes participants from the NYC Office of Emergency Management, the FDNY, the US Coast Guard and the US Parks Police as well as other agencies. These agencies and the members of the CW1NY radio network utilize this two-way radio system to maintain constant communications between law enforcement and public safety officials during emergency and crisis situations. Citywide also officially partners with the NYC Office of Emergency Management to supply communications equipment and the use of our Mobile Command Center for the NYC Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), which is a program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). CW1NY operates on its own infrastructure, has its own generated power and is not reliant on any commercial grid carrier. CW1NY dispatchers are a team of professionals that serve the New York / New Jersey Metro Area 24/7/365. To be eligible for participation, an individual must be involved in emergency service communications or response. Participants may also be decision makers who are charged with deploying personnel and resources in response to emergency situations such as building managers, fire safety directors and security personnel.
