Controlled Environment Agriculture Association of Alberta (CEA3) is at the forefront of transforming Alberta's agricultural landscape through innovation and sustainability. Our association focuses on optimizing growing environments for year-round indoor production of plants, mushrooms, fish, and insects, utilizing a blend of agricultural science, engineering, and cutting-edge technologies. CEA3 aims to promote local food security, sovereignty, and environmental sustainability for the citizens of Alberta. Our mission is to foster rewarding careers in Controlled Environment Agriculture while contributing to local food security and sovereignty. We strive to educate stakeholders, de-risk the sector, and facilitate its growth through collaboration and continuous improvement. CEA3 provides a platform for industry stakeholders to come together, identify key issues, inform and transfer knowledge, and work collectively to promote responsible corporate citizenship. By advocating for investments in the sector and promoting collaboration with research providers, we aim to unlock the full potential of Controlled Environment Agriculture in Alberta. As a not-for-profit association, CEA3 offers various sector services, including a visible online presence, collective advocacy for government engagement, coordination of educational initiatives, and collaboration on research priorities. Our working groups, led by dedicated directors and assisted by member volunteers, drive these initiatives forward. Membership in CEA3 is open to CEA producers, equipment and service providers, architectural and engineering firms, educational institutions, research organizations, and government bodies. We offer different membership tiers to accommodate various stakeholders, ensuring inclusivity and representation across the sector.
