CECODEL

The Center for Cooperative Studies for Local Development (CECODEL) is a non-profit, independent, open and committed association in matters of development and civic education. It is governed by the Moroccan law of associations of November 15, 1958. It was created in Nador in early 1998 by a group of volunteers, professionals from various backgrounds and with solid experience in the field of associative management. It is registered in the legal archives of the city of Nador. CECODEL constitutes a continuity and an alternative to other experiences, in particular that of the popular university Intilaqa at-taqafiya (Cultural Walk), already mythical as an experience of socio-cultural animation both in the working class and in the class intellectual. CECODEL aims to participate in the global and sustainable development of the Rif region by its own means, through citizen participation, partnership and collaboration and the support of other NGOs and institutions. CECODEL works in a collective and united environment and is inspired by its own code of ethics which guides its work and its achievements. In each action and each step, CECODEL keeps in mind its organizational motto: internal democracy and external transparency. In its internal organization, all problems and questions are dealt with according to the rules of the democratic game. In its external relations, CECODEL practices with its partners (local or foreign) complete transparency as to its working method, its activities, its strategies and its financial resources, as well as to the use of these resources. Regarding its concept of development, CECODEL does not intend to carry out projects as an end in itself, but as a means of creating and disseminating a new culture: that of solidarity, cooperation, participation and partnership.
