Continental Europe Energy Council

The Continental Europe Energy Council (CEEC) is a membership association for companies engaged in the sub-surface energy industry within Continental Europe. CEEC member companies are engaged in the hydrocarbons, geothermal, hydrogen, helium, and CCS industries. The CEEC’s goals are facilitating networking, promoting business transactions, and connecting the regional industry energy community. The CEEC has operated continuously since its founding in 1994 by eight companies. The CEEC is a unique non-profit organization with over 160 Members and Associate Members companies across the Continental Europe region. Membership includes major integrated energy companies, national oil companies, regional players, small and mid-size independents, niche players and start-ups plus government licensing authorities. Representatives from service companies, industry suppliers, commercial scouting/ data collection companies, consultants, lawyers, investors/ bankers and academia also participate. The CEEC meetings are a key event in the petroleum business in Continental Europe. Each time they are hosted by a different member company in a different country. The meetings take place twice a year, in early May and early October, with a two and a half-day program which includes an Icebreaker Reception, technical presentations by operators and government authorities in the country, a Government Authorities Forum, Contractors’ Forum, and a members-only Scouting Session, all followed by a Gala Dinner. A geological field trip is held on Saturday. CEEC events and their atmosphere have been designed to encourage networking and making contacts, whilst learning further about the regional geology and best practices in the field. It also includes a farmout forum which may lead to mutually beneficial business opportunities and areas of cooperation – a concept which is much appreciated by all the participants.
