A twist lock is defined as a standardized (rotating) connector system, for connecting and securing intermodal, and ISO-standard shipping containers. It consists of a house and a rotating shaft. Any other device is not a “twist” lock.
A twist lock is used in the shipping industry to secure shipping containers to each other or to a chassis such as trucks, ships or trains ensuring safe and stable transportation of containers. This can be done manually, semi-, or fully automatically.
The Celtec Rail twist locks are designed to automatically engage and disengage with the container corner castings, allowing for efficient container handling and reducing or eliminate manual labor and increase safety.
