Centaur® flexible fence was developed because inventor Ed Robbins, witnessed a tragic accident. A friend’s horse became entangled in a wire fence and was euthanized due to extensive injury. That very moment Ed Robbins, an avid horseman, swore he would create fencing material that would be safer for horses. Ed took a long hard look at what makes traditional fence materials a threat to horses and came up with a safer, long lasting alternative. Splinters, cracked boards, nails and fallen fence lines all pose a serious threat to equine safety. In 1981, Ed Robbins invented an effective fence solution that allows impact to be absorbed by the entire length of the fence.
