Vision: "Bringing people together by developing human capital" Mission: The Center for Global Understanding (CFGU) provides a platform to cultivate the next generation of American leaders through internships in Washington D.C. and continued training and education on leadership development. About Us: The Center for Global Understanding (CFGU) is a non-profit civic and an educational organization designed to bring people together by building a bridge between different cultures and religions. We believe that the only way to bring people together is through educating everyone about different cultures, religions and their values. We are focused on cultivating the next generation of American leaders through our Washington D.C. Internship program for under-represented minorities. The Center for Global Understanding has partnered with The Washington Center (TWC) to administer our Washington DC internship program. The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is an educational nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit. The largest such program, The Washington Center, founded in 1975 with a staff of 70 has over 50,000 alumni, many of whom are leaders in numerous professions and nations around the world.
