Centre for e-health at UiA

The Centre for e-health plays a pivotal role in addressing society's pressing challenges of health and active aging through research in e-health and welfare technology. It fosters collaboration among academia, companies, health entities, the municipality, patients, relatives, and volunteers, guided by user needs. Background: Major shifts in healthcare, coupled with the evolving role of patients, have necessitated technological advancements. The Centre for Ehealth and Care Technology was founded in 2010 as a cross-faculty initiative at UiA, with its prominence solidified in 2011 when designated as the university's first cross-faculty focus area. Ambitions: The Centre aspires to be a national and international hub for innovative e-health research. It seeks to be the primary resource for e-health projects and aims to collaborate closely with the Directorate for e-Health, ultimately making Agder a leading region for e-health. Location and Leadership: Situated in the i4Health building on Grimstad Campus, UiA, the Centre is led by an academic leader, an administrative leader, and an administrative support function.
