About Centre for Marine Simulation (CMS)

CMS is a specialized industry response and applied research center focused on deploying advanced marine simulation technology for training and for industry assistance. With a network of 24 simulators including 3 full mission class A bridge simulators, 2 of which are fully motion capable, CMS is provider of services for individuals and companies seeking training or evaluation for operations in demanding ocean environments including years of experience in polar navigation training. With our own technical modeling group CMS can develop and deliver our client's ship models, offshore assets, or areas of operation including ports, canals or waterways that are either real or being developed. Our services have been used by shipping companies, offshore field operators , accident investigators, insurance companies, regulators, civil engineering and construction firms, and by researchers seeking to create realistic conditions and scenarios to analyze and improve the safety and efficacy of planned operations. CMS is part of the Fisheries and Marine Institute providing additional resources from our sister centers and schools bringing expertise in offshore survival, maritime studies, ocean technology, and fisheries sciences. Proudly located in Newfoundland and Labrador we face the ocean and the future.
