The ETU commenced this new initiative predominately to support its 18,000 members in times of need. It is a philanthropic venture, providing high value in the form of training, health and well-being services, and workplace and personal support.
First and foremost, the Centre exists to enhance the skill attainment and learning of ETU members. Our training focuses on upskilling electricians and line-workers to advance their careers or help them return to work if they are unemployed, training that increase their employment prospects delivered by known experts from the electrical industry. Unemployed, and in some instances employed, ETU members can access training for free.
The Centre is situated at the existing North Melbourne site on the newly renovated level 3, providing ‘fit-for-purpose’ training in our state-of-the-art centre.
The Centre also provides dozens of support services to sustain health, well-being, confidence and connectedness. These services include counselling and mental health services, skin and health check-ups, substance abuse support, and much more.
