Centro Studi e Ricerche IDOS

IDOS Research and Study Centre was founded in 2004 and is specialized in socio-statistical analysis of migration phenomena, including migrants’ integration, at an international, national and local level. On the basis of such expertise, the Centre carries out many national and transnational projects concerning researches, service activities and capacity building, on account of and/or in collaboration with a large number of public and private organizations. The most illustrious IDOS’ research is the Statistical Dossier on Immigration (of which “IDOS” is the acronym), the annual report on migrations in Italy that has been issued for the longest time (the first edition was issued in 1991) and that every year is widespreadly disseminated all over the country. IDOS is constituted by a stable staff of researchers and a qualified network of representatives for every Italian Region and Autonomous Province. A large network of academics and scholars also collaborate on IDOS research work and its dissemination. Every year IDOS presents its own researches in an awareness-raising and dissemination campaign of more than 100 events, often co-organized with public and private organizations that share and support IDOS’ social and cultural mission. Among its main publications, IDOS also issues the Affari Sociali Internazionali magazine, the annual reports Osservatorio sulle Migrazioni a Roma e nel Lazio (Observatory of Migrations in Rome and Lazio), Rapporto Immigrazione e Imprenditoria (Immigration and Entrepreneurship Report), Rapporto sugli Indici di integrazione degli immigrati in Italia (Immigrants’ Integration Indexes Report) and many other thematical studies.
