The Centro Cultural São Francisco is located in the historic center of the city of João Pessoa in the state of Paraíba, in Brazil. The Cultural Center operates in an architectural complex formed by the Church and Convent of Santo Antônio, the Chapel of the Third Order of São Francisco, the Chapel of São Benedito, the House of Prayer of the Third (called the Golden Chapel), the Cloister of the Third Order , a fountain and a large churchyard with a cruise, constituting one of the most remarkable testimonies of the Baroque in Brazil. Due to its importance, it was listed by IPHAN. When the church was founded, it was dedicated to Saint Anthony, and apparently the name change took place at the beginning of the 20th century, due to popular custom, but it is still known also by the old denomination.
