Incorporated in the year 1897 as a Public Limited Company, Aditya Birla Real Estate Limited (formerly known as Century Textiles and Industries Limited) started with one industrial unit - Cotton Textile Mills. Since then, the company has made rapid progress in widely diverse fields. Currently, the company has a remarkable presence in Real Estate and Pulp & Paper Industry. Century Pulp and Paper (CPP), established in 1984 at Lalkuan, near Nainital, Uttarakhand, produces excellent quality Writing and Printing paper and is a leading manufacturer of tissue and board, and Rayon Grade Pulp products. The company has another paper unit (bagasse manufacturing), a prime-grade tissue paper plant at Lalkuan, a sheet cutting facility at Sonipat,the other two are at Bharuch & Baddi. In 2016, the company forayed into real estate sector with Birla Estates, aiming to deliver exceptional residential and commercial spaces. The company will be developing many land parcels that it holds as well as look at joint development/ strategic tie-ups across top cities. The two commercial properties built by Birla Estates at Worli - Birla Aurora and Birla Centurion - both platinum certified buildings, have attained an iconic status in the commercial property fraternity.
