Centre for Private Governance (CEPRI) was established in 2020 as a new research centre at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Law. The overall aim of the centre is to conduct research in the legal implications of private governance, i.e. private actors taking over (traditionally) public tasks and functions. CEPRI has approx. 20 researchers with legal competences within tort law, contract law, company law, construction law, insurance law, financial markets, maritime- and transport law, administrative law, public procurement, human rights, integration law, labor law, health law, international investment law, private international law, procedural law and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). CEPRI collaborates with national and international research environments and with legal practitioners. The centre builds on the research results from the previous Centre for Enterprise Liability (CEVIA), which in 2009-2020 conducted legal research in the interplay between private law and public law rules and perspectives in relation to enterprise liability.
