Cerro Vanguardia

Cerro Vanguardia is a mining company dedicated to the exploration, mining and processing of gold and silver. The Company is comprised of two shareholders: AngloGold Ashanti, with a shareholding of 92.5%, and Fomicruz SE, Governmental Company of the Province of Santa Cruz, with a share of 7.5%. Since operations started in Argentina in 1991, Cerro Vanguardia has invested over USD 400-million into the country. The organization currently employs over 1200 people directly and 600 people indirectly through subcontractors. The mining concession spans over 514 square kilometers. It is located 150 kilometers away from the nearest town, Puerto San Julián, and 510 kilometers away from Río Gallegos, Capital City of the Province of Santa Cruz.
