Our History
Cutting Edge Solutions was originally founded in October 1997. We are a group of specialist people with a reputation for being professional and knowledgeable, yet still friendly and personal in all aspects of our business activities.
In our formative years, our focus was Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology, aimed at small to medium sized businesses. Now, almost 20 years on, we still retain this legacy but also offer a comprehensive portfolio of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) specialist services, to businesses of any size.
In September 2010, Cutting Edge Solutions merged with the Prion Group based in Germany and became known as Prion Cutting Edge in the UK. Our combined company, now had more than 400 staff specialising in PLM with offices throughout Europe, Asia and the USA. We quickly became the largest independent provider of PLM services, to specialise in the Siemens Industry Software (SISW) portfolio of products and could accommodate CAD/PLM projects on a global basis.
In 2013, Accenture PLC acquired the Prion Group, as part of its global Product Lifecycle Services (PLS) strategy, securing its place as the largest provider of PLS services globally.
Due to its status as a ‘Platinum Partner’ of Siemens Industry Software, Prion Cutting Edge continued to trade in the UK as a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture. This allowed us to specialise on the discrete product portfolio from Siemens versus the normally ‘product agnostic’ approach of Accenture.
On September 1st 2017, the senior management team at Prion Cutting Edge, including the original founder Allan Blackwell, acquired the business from Accenture. We now trade with the original name of Cutting Edge Solutions.
We continue our legacy by offering a comprehensive range of services, drawing upon our 20 years’ experience, to help thousands of our clients truly benefit from the modern engineering software solutions of Siemens.
