SIGNÆ is the Umbrian winery that comes out of the box to enhance Sagrantino, the extraordinary native grape of Montefalco. Besides DOC and DOCG wines, SIGNÆ produces softer and more fragrant IGT wines that best represent our interpretation of Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso. Entirely designed and built in 2001 by the Cesarini-Sartori family, the winery is equipped with cutting-edge technologies that make it possible to minimize the use of chemistry in the vineyard and in the cellar: the result is a truly natural wine that do not give headache or stomach problems. The company has started a research project togheter with the University of Florence and Perugia on the healthy properties of Sagrantino grape, which is the richest in sugars and antioxidant substances compared to all the other vines in the world. Today the company produces juice and jam made 100% with Sagrantino grapes; the goal is to obtain nutraceutical products from wine production waste, becoming a company with a positive environmental impact.
