Community Foundation for Shropshire

Welcome to your local Community Foundation! The Community Foundation for Shropshire has operated across the ceremonial county of Shropshire, including Telford & Wrekin, since 2016. We are the charity for charities. We deliver philanthropic services for companies, small businesses, local authorities, statutory agencies and individuals who want to give something back to their local area. We work with solicitors, accountants, financial advisers and wealth advisers to support their clients with a range of charitable giving options. We can help to advise on tax efficient giving, and how you can achieve the maximum impact, whilst minimising your costs and workload. We manage grant programmes on behalf of government, local authorities, statutory agencies, the private sector, or individuals who want to give something back. Over the last few years we have awarded more than £1m to support our communities. We run emergency appeal funds, which Like all officially recognised community foundations, we are members of UK Community Foundations, and have achieved accreditation to verify the quality of our work. We manage emergency appeals, including appeals to help support people affected by the floods in 2021, the cost of living crisis, the 'heat or eat' crisis caused by rising fuel costs, the Afghan resettlement scheme and the Ukraine resettlement programme. We also offer many other services that help to strengthen the VCSE sector, and support cross-sector working between the VCSE, public and private sectors. Some of these services are delivered directly by The Community Foundation, and some are delivered via active partnerships, where we may offer support to someone that is already providing services.
