CGA was founded in 1989 as a subsidiary of Legg Mason, Inc., and is currently a privately held firm consistently recognized as one of the country's leading real estate net lease financing sources. CGA has closed over $34 billion in debt and equity financings over the past 35 years, including three of the four largest single tenant/single property sale-leaseback transactions ever undertaken in the United States. CGA’s principals led the real estate net lease financing efforts at Legg Mason and RBS Securities (fka RBS Greenwich Capital, a part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc), and have been pioneers in innovative net lease transaction structures for office, retail, industrial, governmental, healthcare, manufacturing, and special purpose properties involving more than 100 separate corporate and governmental tenants in all 50 states.
