A freelance product designer; I am versatile designer and have worked across a range of projects, materials and companies.
Initially I came to design from a cabinetry background, I used to produce pieces of furniture with my Father when I was growing up and at School. I decided to undertake an engineering based Product Design degree at the University of Sussex as I believed the mix of industry experience and manufacturing knowledge would be beneficial in bringing projects to market on time and on budget.
After graduation I undertook my Masters degree at the University of Teesside, who have an excellent design school based in the North East. Here I am applied knowledge of user based design and design for marketing as well as looking in to ecology, biomimetics and improving my prototyping skills.
Following graduation with an MSc Design I undertook a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the PureH2O Company in order to bring design thinking and the skills needed for New Product Development in to this business. Aswell as working with PureH2O I have worked on design projects with a large multinational pharmaceutical company, a specialist glass design and fabrication company and a number of inventors, Venture Capitals and small business owners.
