CGOC (Compliance, Governance and Oversight Council) focuses on the importance of information lifecycle governance to mitigate risk, reduce cost and increase the value of information. The CGOC Council includes more than 3,800 leaders and practitioners from legal, IT, records and information management, security, and privacy. Members represent government agencies and major companies, such as Bank of America, Chevron, GE, Kaiser Permanente, Liberty Mutual, Novartis, Procter & Gamble, Toyota and UBS. The CGOC Council publishes reference guides, articles and conducts primary research; its Information Governance Process Maturity Model (IGPMM) has been cited in numerous legal opinions and briefs and widely referenced and adopted by organizations. The CGOC Council maintains practice groups on challenging topics and hosts regional meetings throughout the U.S. and Europe, where practice leaders convene to discuss information governance and economics, eDiscovery, data disposal, retention, and privacy. CGOC has been advancing governance practices and driving thought leadership since 2004.
