About the DCU ALPHA LAB The Alpha Lab is a partnership between DCU, DCU Alpha and the INSIGHT SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics. Headed by Prof. Stephen Daniels, the Alpha Lab program runs through the academic year and is part of an integrated series of short-term student projects across faculties. Each year Alpha Lab sets forth a series of short-term projects looking at highly-skilled issues that arise in Industry. Projects submitted to the team are assessed for feasibility and if suitable are offered to specific students in a range of different disciplines through the Alpha Lab Academy Program. The Alpha Lab team will engage students across the DCU in projects that amplify the student’s skills in a given area of interest. The overarching aspiration of the Alpha Lab will be to foster student’s skills in combined research, entrepreneurship and complex problem solving. Through the projects we expect the student to foster links and collaborations, as well as finding innovative ways of researching problems. The Alpha Lab is led by Prof. Stephen Daniels at the DCU School of Electronic Engineering and supported by The Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics and DCU Alpha.
