The Center for Health Administration and Policy Studies(CHAMPS) is a study centre founded by the Department of Health Administration and Policy, Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia in 2006. Over the course of its eighteen years of existence, CHAMPS has conducted a wide range of activities pertaining to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which include research, consultation, workshops, seminars, and training leading to policy recommendations. Furthermore, CHAMPS has engaged in community service by providing support to a variety of health service facilities, including hospitals and health centres, as well as health institutions (provincial and district/city health services).
Since its founding, CHAMPS has worked with a wide range of national and provincial organizations, including the Ministry of Health, the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency, the National Social Security Council, the Health Social Security Administering Agency, and others, as well as community health centres, hospitals, and regional development planning agencies. Furthermore, CHAMPS has collaborated with global organizations including Johnson & Johnson, GFATM, KNCV, USAID, etc. Nevertheless, CHAMPS has yet to explore an extensive variety of cooperation opportunities.
As it approaches its 18th birthday this year (2024), CHAMPS's primary goal is to enhance the research, scientific, and advocacy skills of its personnel in order to optimize collaborations with international institutions and fortify partnerships with various strategic national stakeholders.
With regard to science, the development of health policies, and advocacy, it is hoped that CHAMPS can make the greatest possible contribution to the field of public health and ultimately enhance the health status of Indonesians.
